Regain YOU

From The Soulful Woman

What is SELF-LOVE, for you? Is it different from self-absorption? Actually, true self-love is one of the most empowering and liberating practices we can offer ourselves.

I've put together 7 KEYS to Healthy Self-Love. See which ones resonate for you. When you’re practicing self-love in your life, the following things become more true for you:

1. INNER GOODNESS: You know that goodness, care and love comprise your deepest inner core and that this goodness can never be disputed. As such, your value and worth is equal to all others. You make a point of reminding yourself of your innate goodness, worth and love, daily.

2. LOVING INNER-TALK: You know the difference between the inner critic and the guiding voice of your conscience and integrity. The inner critic tends to make you feel shamed, anxious and not good enough, while the voice of conscience and integrity makes you feel strong, wise and free, and helps you make good decisions in your life.

3. STRONG BOUNDARIES: You understand that the world is still a wild and crazy place, that trauma and dysfunction is common, and that many people behave in less than caring or healthy ways. Therefore, out of respect for yourself, you develop strong, positive boundaries to take care of yourself, and know how to say NO when needed.

4. SELF-COMPASSION: You offer compassion to yourself for the mistakes you’ve made, for the losses and traumas you’ve endured, and for the vulnerabilities and issues you have. You know that you're a sacred human being on a learning journey and that you deserve respect and compassion - especially from yourself.

5. JOY & BEAUTY: You appreciate how joy, beauty and pleasure nourish your soul and boost your spirit, so you find ways to give these things to yourself regularly, if not daily. You continue to gently release any old feelings of guilt or unworthiness about fully receiving joy, beauty and abundance into your life.

6. MOTHERING YOURSELF: You understand that as a grown-up it’s your responsibility to mother yourself in all the ways you may have missed out on as a child. You actively soothe yourself in times of stress, feed and care for yourself in healthy ways, and find positive, supportive people to help you when you need it. Your wellbeing is a priority to you and you seek out situations and relationships where you can truly flourish.

7. SELF-EMPOWERMENT: You realise that life is complex and actively pursue learning and knowledge. You invest in your own development, whenever you can, and enjoy growing and expanding. You also appreciate that learning is a life-long process and are patient with yourself, allowing yourself to grow at your own pace.

MANY ASPECTS TO SELF-LOVE: There are many different aspects to self-love and I invite you to think of your own list, or add to mine. In the end, there’s no actual list, only an evolving sense of how to best support yourself to be the person you know yourself to be, deep inside, despite whatever hurts or challenges you have faced.

LIFE-LONG PRACTICE: Self-love is an emotional and spiritual practice based on a core commitment to ourselves. It’s the gentle, daily work of building a respectful and compassionate relationship with ourselves.

Healing Journey Help comes somehow

🌺💃 Image may contain: one or more people
Notes from 13th May:
🌺💃
Well seat belts fastened for a turbulent ride in my life - the divorce from my violent husband is in the process... when he finally is found to answer the petition!! I have so much problems with the ESA and my Sheltered bungalow.... but it is amazing how Allah's love provides... and guides.. I have a good lawyer team to help me... with legal aid now provided,, then I have found a local group for us veteran survivors of Domestic Violence the counselor is amazing... I found my Doll from my time in the past trying to heal from past abuse... I had attended a weekend workshop in Glastonbury... the theme was to bring some material and stitch a doll that represented you to heal..... Some chose patterns that were like mermaids tightly guarded but my doll (which I never expected to do) became this... a free able to move lady with as skirt of different material patterns that represented different aspects of me... and with hidden treasures to find. She was stitched with rainbow thread that I had bought when I lived in India to balance my chakra energy centres with colour..... and when we stuffed our dolls we put rose petals and lavender in to put the healing love inside of us. You will see there is no face... as this has been so criticized and battered in the past by my abusers. Sometimes I can look in the mirror when feeling good and look good and glow and if not feeling good can see a tired drawn and weary woman....

This week has been amazing not only did I get some healing in the local Spiritualist church but last night my upline NYR consultant invited me round to join some other consultants to have an amazing Journey of Mindfulness discovering and trying the NYR Frankincense facial products... It just felt so good to put love back in ourselves and care for our face and skin... I quite like to be able to do this for our women's group too... and my lovely womenfolk Syrian refugees in the camp...
I so need to build up all my business ideas to regain some financial dignity and freedom in the remainder of my life.... and with that help rebuild my life and rebuild the lives of my Syrian refugee family link up project too....
You can read more on the products and the journey of mindfulness and maybe you can have a journey with your friends too....

Group Therapy

Image may contain: one or more people and text
notes from 17th May
Been a busy afternoon in Group therapy with other women survivors..and today got the funds to get the book edited by Prof Susan Bewley that I used to work with......... Learning to recognise all the themes and patterns of abuse and all the feelings and pain in the aftermath journey to healing and wellness.. There really needs to be a Government; DWP and professionals recognition of the long term post traumatic effects and the flashbacks women can get..... like have been in a war zone or torture situation...... Some women may be looking as if they are coping and are trying like crazy to cope for children they may have ....but at some point there is a need to fall completely into the aftermath pain and work through it with help and counselling.... The journey to rebuild needs full support to be successful.... and regain confidence and detox from the abuse....

Time to Stop

No automatic alt text available.

Time to stop violence and abuse of women. Perpetrators must be investigated and held to accountability. With this their behaviour reformed before allowed free in society again.  It is simply not acceptable for a man to control and hit and mentally and financially abuse a wife or partner.

But not only is it time to stop the abuse but it is time to stop the failings of the present DWP to support women on their journey of healing, detoxing from the ugliness of violence and abuse of them and restore and rebuild their confidence and lives.

For this I have set up a petition to get this recognised as at present there is a breach of State Duty of Care as per UN directives by the UK government.

Austerity cutbacks have also meant a failure to get legal aid or great difficulty to get legal aid to justice and divorce.  There have also been cutbacks in the CPS and whilst the perpetrator may be arrested he can be let go at the arrest phase with the CPS acting like a mini court and judge.  If they feel there is insufficient evidence to take to court for wider review of the case.

Women are being let down by the system and it is time to stop this failing.

Petition for Change

Got the campaign off to a flying start to improve the pathway of support for women victims of domestic violence.  I have published a petition on Change.org which is great as it is interactive with supporters when they share their comments and cases.  I can free text and keep the profile updated. This will serve as a good platform for me then to get the parliamentary petition together for both houses to debate and for reform of DWP policies to protect women long term and provide a strong and stable pathway of support as she rebuilds her life.
The petition is to John McDonnell my MP and Shadow Chancellor.

Strong & Stable Pathway of Support needed for Domestic Violence Survivors to rebuild lives

"I would like all women to have the financial dignity they deserve on their journey of healing from the physical, psychological and financial abuse that criminal perpetrators have exerted on their victims. I am very concerned at the weak support women get in the UK with the present DWP provision. I wish to launch a nationwide appeal for a STRONG AND STABLE PATHWAY OF DWP SUPPORT FOR WOMEN DV SURVIVORS TO HEAL AND REBUILD THEIR LIVES... This is so urgent!!!! For the long term support there is a need to review the DWP policies to protect women from sudden drops in support. Letters received and no money to help her could result in her death from suicide in her depression. Or if the perpetrator is still free in society she could return to him and the next beating be her murder.
We must keep pressuring the weak&wobbly coalition of chaos gov in place now... and the hang over of the "something for nothing" mentality of the Cameron government that appears to demonize those in need of Social Welfare. However, presently there is a failure of State Duty of Care towards women as per UN directives on violence towards women in war and peace time. There is growing evidence in case histories..  Women should not be faced with bailiffs, eviction from safe housing or insufficient money to keep her phone link to call for help or be in need of foodbanks with insufficient funds for food.  When her confidence is built to return to work she must have an overlap of support to be sure she can cope!
Once supported to healing she will be one strong woman for any organisation to have in their team. "
Please support this petition to save women's lives!

Curl up and die no not I ... got loads to do even if no funds... so here I am in the library got grant applications in ...emails to my two favourite professors in the UK to launch my nationwide appeal for a STRONG AND STABLE PATHWAY OF DWP SUPPORT FOR WOMEN DV SURVIVORS TO HEAL AND REBUILD THEIR LIVES...so urgent!!!! as the present system costs lives with drops in failure... so we must keep pressuring the weak&wobbly coalition of chaos gov in place now... I am looking to take this weak wobbly gov to the supreme courts for a failure of state duty of care towards women as per UN directives on violence towards women in war and peace time. It is gross failure of care to drop DWP support to women.. Gross failure of care for the London Borough of Hillingdon to be threatening me with eviction from my OAP Sheltered bungalow as 63yrs DV survivor with no State Pension as this being denied til I am 66yrs in 2020...!
¸╭•⊰Help to keep my Sheltered Bungalowღ¸╭•⊰
Also looking for educational tools to help my new found neighbour Afghani friend with reading and writing... she has a DV history like me and we are kindred spirits... and her two daughters amazing with all they do for her and with her... so we are going to team up on writing and reading and English learning...as my new friend is a very intelligent lady and needs to express to the world how amazing she is..
¸╭•⊰Improve support DV survivorsღ¸╭•⊰
and of course I have my Family Link Up project to keep me focused on the need to rebuild their lives too .. A great need for me to go to visit too with some exciting developments in Turkey and an amazing lady to meet... and to also see that Boshra and my princesses are settled OK from Athens to Belgium...

Lady Marjorie come on you will win and find a way....
