Stand Tall

I am unable to pay my E.ON gas & electricity bill due to breaks in benefit support and periods of no money. Unable to get my State Pension being a 1954 baby and age of retirement shifted so will have to wait till 2020 if I survive that long.  Most times eating three good meals a week not a day.  I had felt that I had explained my situation adequately to the customer service and that they understood and were trying to help.  I followed directives to approach energy charities but letters came back saying they were unable to help. Unable to help as it was clear I needed long term help given my situation. There was a young man sent round to my house and to assess my situation and I felt I had explained adequately and that he understood my situation.  YET yesterday I felt completely violated, harassed and intimidated by a letter received to get a warrant of entry to my OAP council studio bungalow.

I am intensifying my campaign that women need a better deal and pathway of support when they are trying to rebuild their lives after domestic abuse.  For the system to fail her and then start battering her with the harshness of chasing her for money she has quite clearly has not got is totally unacceptable.  I am facebooking and twittering now as we need the nation to sit up and see that this government is not fit for purpose.  GOV will say they are putting millions in to helping women domestic violence survivors when in fact we do not see anything of this on the frontline!  Our support is needed for how ever long it takes to heal and detox from the ugliness of violent abuse upon our being. Failures in support prolong that healing as it simply tethers us to the past and brings all the flashbacks of our abuse.  You can lay like an injured animal over again with the abuse of these letters socially battering you.  The post traumatic depression triggers and you wrestle with feels of unworthiness to live... but WE HAVE EVER RIGHT TO EXIST ON THIS EARTH! and there is to UN directives a STATE DUTY OF CARE to help women that have been subjected to violence in WAR and PEACE time.

Our social system must recognise the human rights of women and the need to support better on the pathway to healing and rebuilding their lives after abuse!

This government could and should be taken to the Supreme Court on their failures to provide support.

This EON power situation is disgusting we need all companies and governments to look at a basic threshold of free to use power to get our basic needs met and then charge for additional over this. Profits are vast with over charging for a necessity! I feel this would be a solution in all nations of the world.. In our modern day life we need electricity at least... but then we need to see why are we not putting SOLAR PANELS ON OAP bungalows and housing complexes, residential and nursing homes.. to help not only ease the cost of power burden on the elderly who need to keep warm for winter but will help to generate power for the national grid.    Elderly do need to keep warm for their joints and muscles to work better.  This is necessary to help towards the reducing the incidence of falls and admissions to A/E....!!
My facebook post today!
πŸ’œπŸŒΈπŸ‹️‍♀️What irony this - born in 1954 deprived of my much earned and paid for State Pension now. Paid in tax for near on half century. Had drops in DWP support... now 63yrs no paid work offered me after illness from DV abuse.... and the irony is 1954 Act of Parliament Rights of Entry being used by EON gas & electric company to cut off my right to be warm in winter!! YES FOLKS this is the UK in 2017 with an uncaring Tory government that demonises the poor harasses the poor rather than help!!
Power charities decline to help me as they say I need long term support given the situation I am in ..... ?!

All I need is financial dignity ......
and do note my Moroccan friends this is all the result of that criminal Amine I foolishly married and believed. Scammer!! I hope you find him for me and deal with him accordingly as he shames good hard working caring Moroccans that care for their elderly.

Parliament for State Pension

http://www.waspi.co.uk/
This meeting was a revelation of how much this situation is affecting women. Many of us have worked since 1969 and have paid in tax over the years expecting to retire at 60 to find the retirement age as shifted to 66yrs... I personally have to wait till 2020 for my pension.  There is a bill to go through parliament to shift the retirement to 70yrs begging the question where as all our tax money gone! We had MPs coming to the meeting the most kindly and spent time with us before rushing to division was the Shadow Pensions secretary Alex Cunningham.  The rest of the labour MPs and the Lib dem that came were also with us and kindly.  Sadly the government MP that came was less warm and caring and was saying we are low priority.  That really ruffled my feathers.  It hurts like hell this the whole dam situation I have found myself in... I was sat with a view from the committee room to St Thomas's hospital were I worked for 20 year as a midwife .... I have seen life in the world safely and in nursing seen life out with dignity and painfree ... I have worked through breaks on busy shifts and not enough staff and got off late from shifts.. I have paid in an enormous amount of tax over my years since my first job as an office junior in 1969.  LOW PRIORITY LOW PRIORITY LOW PRORITY.... rings over and over in my head from this meeting.  My situation compounded by not being the woman of substance I should have been and could have been with falling victim to violent abusive perpetrator husbands number 2 and number 3... left penniless and now at an age where I cannot just jump into paid work... there is endless offers of volunteer work but no paid work.. I try as you know to find funding for my Syrian Refugee Family Link up Project and I try to get online customers for commission from the independent consult business for NYR organic... I campaign and am an activist on domestic and international issues... Where there is pain I campaign!!  To be told I and all the other women are LOW PRIORITY by government is quite frankly NOT ACCEPTABLE.... it is a form of abuse on our integrity and all that we have done for this country.  It makes me ashamed of this country my motherland.  How can a leader and foul policies do this to the elderly the sick and the vulnerable.....? it is perverse and a gross failure of state duty of care!   It is obscene...

I came out of the meeting feeling dizzy and upset and screaming inside as this is NOT the country I want my motherland to be.... A couple of police officers in parliament near the committee rooms called me to them and they were so so kind to me... One took off his hat as form of respect for me and held my hand... They know my history and see my scar on my arm from my pin and plate from Amine kicking me.... They told me Don't give up Marjorie you are doing good keep strong... I am grateful to their care and support.

You know when you listen to others we are all feeling enough is enough now...many are shocked and upset that the elderly are having to fight for their state pension.  Time the government were stopped with all this harsh austerity... and yet they will pompously spouting off they are putting this money in this and that ..and doing this and that - but on the front-line the pain and the effects of mal-policies are evident.  The system is not caring for those in needs and the hardworking taxpayers that have become vulnerable on life's way.

Never Give Up

Just found these words in my facebook newsfeed and felt I need to share with you.  This is how it feels so often the struggle to get out of bed feeling like the world is against you, that you are thrown away like rubbish and abused by your perpetrator... Then the system constantly hassling you instead of helping you to heal and rebuild your life.....But you push yourself to get up and you turn pain into campaign to get your life back.

Interesting how I got this today as I was sat quiet today in the OAP bungalow with the cats all cosy and curled up around me. What was I doing? I was studying online to enhance my teacher training! Trying to find ways as 63yrs with no state pension and major drops in benefit support to regain financial dignity.  I have had a letter from the DWP that I must find work till 2020 when I can get my pension. Do note that the ESA abruptly stopped and I am still waiting for ESA hopefully that will come tomorrow as I signed on again this Monday. But I will have had a month gap with no payment!! The jobcentre supervisor saying if it does not come in tomorrow to go to him to get a same day clearance.  But there should be no gaps at all this is counterproductive to getting people in work again.  how can you have the energy to search and studying when you are hungry?

Because I am trying so hard I feel that there should be some extra help financially. So many are trying hard and getting hammered back by badly thought out DWP policies. Realistically all need some overlap if they find work too as you have expenses to start work and to await salary payments... it can all be recouped in tax once earning again! All it needs is compassionate thinking for what it is like being on the front-line of pain and hurt. Being a helping hand up not a shove down...! We women have had enough of being beaten down!!!

But while I was studying a knock came to the door today from the London Borough of hillingdon from the fraud department to check that it was me that was living in the property and that I was not subletting??!!!  It feels harassment and no respect for me and all I am trying to do to rebuild.  Readers and supporters no women survivors of domestic violence and abuse should be then hassled by the system... a system that has a state duty of care towards her healing and well being.  Ironically as today our PM was talking (despite choking on her words) that Tories do have compassion. Sad that the LBH tory council continues to harass me with one after another badly written policy that seems to demonise those that need support?

I am grateful to being on the APPG for Poverty and with TAP taxpayers against poverty to feedback direct from the front-line on the need for reform.  I am grateful to the acceptance of me in the WASPI campaign that are fighting for womens rights to State Pension for those born in and after 1954.

I see my petition has had more signatures added... yes we need to challenge government for a better deal for women survivors from abuse and help her regain her financial dignity again with healing and renewed strength.

So thank you and lets keep going as John needs to present the concern to government after all the party conferences and when parliament in session.  I hope to meet with key ministers soon too.
